Our Objectives

The Objectives of the Fairness IChild Support (F.I.C.S.) group are to:

1)     Remove the Family Law Courts and to replace the courts with a fairer system of conciliation and agreement.

2)     Ensure that the monetary value of any property settlement is to be taken into account when determining child support.

3)     Stop the malicious use of Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs) in determining contact with children.

4)     Have shared parenting adopted as a starting point when determining contact arrangements (at present the standard contact orders only provide for contact between one of the parents and the children every second weekend and for half the school holidays).

5)     Repeal the Child Support (Assessment) Act 1989 and abolish the Child Support Agency.

6)     Implement fair, equitable and just decision-making into the child support system.

7)     Remove spousal maintenance as a means of double-dipping.

8)     Stop the use of unfounded allegations of child abuse in preventing contact with children.
